Greek to Me: Hesperides
One orchard keeper checks her family tree against Hesiod and Diodorus, then discovers that even the golden apples come with alternate accounts.
A family tree with several versions
Hesiod makes the golden-apple guardians daughters of Night. Diodorus gives them Atlas and Hesperis as parents and counts seven daughters. The Library also records different apple collectors, while ancient accounts disagree about the garden’s location. Our orchard keeper settles for bringing the fruit.
